Christianity and Vegetarianism Do Not Go Together

What? Now, I KNOW that just blew some minds. So, for the Christians out there, let me share my reasons for believing that Christianity and vegetarianism do not go together.

Vegetarianism and Religion

All you have to do is type in “spiritual dangers of vegetarianism” in Google and you will come up with hundreds if not thousands of articles explaining the spiritual benefits of eating only plant-based foods. However, if you will look closer you will notice that everything is couched in very New Age terms: “enlightenment”, “karma”, etc.

Misuse of the Bible to Support an Ungodly Idea

In fact, here are a few quotes from an article that appeared at the top of the search results for “spiritual dangers of vegetarianism”.

One of the first things I noticed was that the header image, show a woman practicing yoga. Now, I don’t care what you say, yoga and Christianity do NOT mix!

Second thing that I noticed was that the writer used Biblical references to support the claim that to be in line with God’s creation and His purpose we should NOT be eating the animals He created.
Then as I read through the article, there were a few phrases that jumped out at me, that confirmed what I already knew about the spiritual dangers of vegetarianism and veganism:

  • “In the Bhagavad-Gita-As-It-Is” – Never seen that in the 66 books of the Bible, because it’s NOT Christian. “The Bhagavad Gita emphasizes a path of devotion toward the personal God, Krishna”
  • A quote from “Sri Isopanisad” – Now I’d heard of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but I’d never see that name in the Bible. That’s because it’s not. The person’s quote is taken from the Bhagavad-Gita, a Krishna text.
  • “brotherhood of all creatures on earth” – not in the Bible
  • “Law of Karma” or reincarnation – not a Christian teaching
Now, lest you think I’m being a bit picky about the whole Christianity and vegetarianism thing, this is a quote from that same article: “God has millions of names. Some are Allah, Eloi, Eluhanu, Abbah, Krishna, Govinda, Gopala, and on.”

Do you see the name of Jehovah God, Jesus Christ, or Holy Spirit? No.

The Spiritual Dangers of Vegetarianism is Real

Now, you can ignore what you’ve read, if you’ve made it this far, which is fine. I will have done my job and that is to warn you of the spiritual dangers of vegetarianism. Anytime you mix doctrines of demons…wait! There’s even a verse in the Bible that says something about “doctrines of demons”:

Doctrine of Demons: Abstaining from Meats

1 Timothy 4:1-4 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;”

Notice that the doctrines of demons commands to abstain from foods – if you can find an older written copy of King James, you may find it actually says, “commanding to abstain from MEAT”. Then it goes on to say that “EVERY CREATURE OF GOD” is good.  A creature is NOT a plant!

A Little Leaven Leavens the Whole Lump

All the non-Judeo/Christian religions are idolatrous, demonic religions, and you cannot mix a bit of Truth with lie and have whole truth. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ beware of the Spiritual Dangers of Vegetarianism.
