Full Disclosure of Affiliate Earnings

Now you may have noticed (how could you not?) that I have banners and links to three different retail essential oil brands; NOW, Piping Rock and a few other essential oil companies. I have an affiliate relationship with each of these companies, meaning that if someone clicks on a link on my website to go and purchase an oil from their company website, I will earn a small (compared to the jacked-up inflated commissions of the MLM companies) commission of 7-10%, or about .29 cents on an oil that you pay $2.99 for, or $5 on an expensive oil for which you pay $50.

That commission is NOT added on to your price, and you would pay the $2.99 whether you bought through this website or whether you went directly to their website.

I AM NOT profiting directly off of you, the readers. The affiliate commission is paid by the essential oil company. I don’t buy the oils at a lower wholesale price and then jack up the price before selling to you. Once leaving my site you deal directly with the essential oil company.

Compare Young Living Commissions vs. BCEO's Affiliate Earnings

Just to make it a little clearer, here's a comparison between what a Young Living consultant earns when the YL oils are sold at full Suggest Retail Price (SRP) and what I earn if someone follows a link here to purchase from one of essential oil companies with which I have an affiliate relationship

I don't know about you, but $624 is two mortgage payments, or three-months of electricity for my place. So you'll understand why when I was first introduced to Young Living essential oils I was appalled at the prices. I knew what I'd paid years ago for essential oils and figured that even with the worst inflation, there was no way the prices had gone up that much.

Now I can say "I told me so" without qualms. The prices are jacked up to cover advertising, promotions, freebies, and a bloated commission tier structure.

When you click on any link to purchase oils from any one of the essential oil companies I'm affiliated with, you can rest assured that 1) you are not paying me anything, and hopefully agree that 2) the little commission I earn is in no way out of sight or extravagant.

 "Affiliate Ads are Annoying"

That's just one of the comments I've heard about affiliate advertising. So let me educate you on how websites and the internet work.

It costs money to have a website. Every website you see costs money to have a place on the web. Costs include: hosting, domain name, design, content writing, graphic arts, advertising and promotion, especially if much of the work is being done by employees or contractors. Thankfully, except for the hosting and purchasing the domain name, I do all of my own work.

Big companies that have their own product lines are supported by those products, ie: Coca Cola, Ford, Amazon, CBS, etc. Companies that don't actually have a product to sell, one of the ways they pay for their website expenses is by renting out advertising real estate on their websites. They do this by placing banners, links and featuring products sold by other companies.

I'm not rich. In fact, as of December 1, 2014, I've not made a penny off this site. If the site doesn't begin paying for itself, the time will come when I will have no choice but to either sell the website or to just let it go.

Many of you who are the loudest complainers call yourselves "Christians", yet are the nastiest bunch of bitches I've ever encountered. It's also obvious that what really pisses is you off is not the fact that I have affiliate ads on this site, but that I dare to expose the sacred cow, MLM essential oils companies, most specifically Young Living. Yikes!

So if you don't like it, leave!

I didn't build this site for you, I built it to opens people's eyes to the fact that they can use quality essential oils and not have to sell their first born or donate a kidney to do so!
